Custom Liquid Calibration Test Benches

A calibration test bench is a complete closed-loop test rig for verifying liquid flow meters — turbine, positive-displacement, electromagnetic, ultrasonic, and Coriolis. Lonetti manufactures fixed and mobile test benches from DN15 to DN100, flow rates up to 1,200 L/min, with ±0.05% accuracy, built to OIML R117, ISO 4185, and API MPMS.

What is a calibration test bench?

The meter under test is plumbed into a closed flow loop. Product flows from a reservoir, through the meter, into a certified reference (a Lonetti prover tank or master meter), and back to the reservoir. The result is a meter factor or correction curve. Test benches are used in meter calibration workshops, OEM production lines, and mobile field meter shops.

What standards apply to calibration test benches?

Lonetti test benches conform to OIML R117 (Dynamic Measuring Systems for Liquids), ISO 4185 (Measurement of Liquid Flow in Closed Conduits), and API MPMS. Reference standards within the bench carry their own INTI calibration certificates.

Frequently asked questions about calibration test benches

Prover or master meter reference — which should I choose?

A prover tank (gravimetric) is the most accurate, traceable to OIML R117 directly. A master meter is faster and suited for production-line testing, but requires periodic recalibration against a prover. Many Lonetti benches include both references.

Can the bench be mobile?

Yes. Container-mounted and trailer-mounted configurations are common for service providers. Mobile benches still include the reference, pump, reservoir, control panel, and instrumentation — in a compact footprint.

Do you support electromagnetic and Coriolis meters?

Yes. Lonetti benches handle turbine, PD, electromagnetic, ultrasonic, and Coriolis meters — adapter spools and the appropriate electrical interfaces are included.
